STAR Development Centre is an independent girls’ football coaching service in Somerset, run by Dean Parkinson. For privacy questions, contact coachdmp7@gmail.com or 07902 594064.
Public enquiries
Enquiries collect contact details, programme interest and a message so STAR can respond. Please keep medical details and safeguarding concerns out of public enquiry forms. Where enabled, enquiries are delivered through Resend; email and WhatsApp have their own privacy practices.
School and club portal
Invited school and club staff can submit player referrals with parent permission, request coaching and share football observations with STAR. Referrals include the player’s name and age group, parent contact details and football goals. Parents may also submit a referral using an organisation’s link.
Existing player records are connected separately by STAR. A linked parent must approve sharing in the Parent Portal before the organisation can see current development goals, STAR attendance from the last 90 days and session feedback selected by STAR. Every staff member individually invited by STAR to that organisation can see this agreed information. Full profiles, medical information, private photographs and family messages are not included.
Parents can withdraw sharing permission in their account. STAR can revoke individual staff access or pause an organisation. Organisation records are stored with our existing Supabase account service. Contact STAR about corrections or removal; withdrawn access does not recall information already viewed or recorded by the organisation.
Organisation referral pages display only the organisation’s approved public logo, name, colour and welcome. STAR records referral assignments, contact deadlines and first-contact/first-session milestones to manage follow-up. The organisation and referring parent can see referral progress; internal staff assignments and deadlines stay with STAR. Promotional QR codes link to the organisation’s referral page and contain no player information.
Partnership enquiries
The partnership form collects an organisation name and type, contact name, email, optional phone number and website, and a proposal. With your agreement, STAR uses these details to review and respond to your proposal. Online submissions are delivered to coachdmp7@gmail.com through Resend and are not stored in the player database. Copies remain in the email delivery and STAR email systems. Submitting does not subscribe you to marketing. Please leave out children’s personal information and sensitive or confidential material. Contact STAR using the details above about access, correction or deletion. If online delivery is unavailable, you can choose to send the proposal through your own email app.
Staplegrove Ladies FC referrals
The optional referral form on the Pathways page collects your name, age, email address and phone number. With your agreement, STAR emails these details to staplegroveladiesfootballclub@gmail.com through Resend so the club can respond to your enquiry. The referral does not create a STAR account or subscribe you to marketing. The website does not save the referral to the player database; copies remain in the email delivery and club email systems. For questions about the club’s use or retention of your referral, contact the club at that address. You can contact STAR about its handling of the referral using the details above. If online delivery is unavailable, a clearly labelled option lets you send the referral through your own email app instead.
Private player onboarding
Signed-in parents and players can save a player’s identity and contact details, football experience, goals, support needs, relevant health and emergency arrangements, training-top size, boot size and availability. STAR uses this information to understand the player, arrange her free assessment and plan suitable coaching. Share information relevant to participation; you may ask to discuss sensitive matters privately.
Drafts are saved when you choose Save progress. Access is restricted to the account that created the profile, the separately linked parent and player accounts, and authorised STAR managers. A separate player login can be linked later; it is not needed for the parent to submit the form or request an assessment. An optional account-link invitation is restricted to the recipient’s verified email and expires after 48 hours. Completing onboarding does not grant access to another player’s existing coaching records.
Identification photograph
The head-to-toe photograph is used to identify the player and for her private profile. Upload a recent photograph in ordinary clothing or training kit. Photographs are converted to JPEG and location metadata is removed before upload. Identification photographs are stored privately and are not published on the public website by this onboarding process.
Participation and media choices
The parent or guardian reviews the completed profile and confirms participation in the free assessment. Private coaching photographs/video, public photographs, public video and use of the player’s first name each have separate choices. No promotional choice is selected by default. Declining these media permissions does not prevent an assessment request.
Changes to the saved profile require a fresh parent review. Update media choices here and contact STAR about withdrawing permission or removing material already published. If information should no longer be used, contact STAR so the request can be reviewed and the appropriate records corrected or removed.
Cookies and analytics
See our cookie policy for information about browser storage, analytics and your choices.
Storage and account security
The website is hosted on Vercel. Accounts, onboarding records and private photographs use Supabase; the STAR database project is in its London region. These providers process information to operate the service. Medical details and photographs are not sent through public enquiry emails by the onboarding process.
Closing a parent account
Signed-in parents can request permanent account deletion in Parent Hub → Account. After checking their current password and confirming the request, the parent login and exclusively linked child logins are permanently disabled and cannot be recovered; parent account profiles, settings and unfinished application drafts are removed. Restricted authentication references and submitted coaching, booking or safeguarding records may be retained where required. Where a child login is shared with another guardian, or an account also has school, club or staff responsibilities, STAR must help to avoid removing another person’s access. Coaching, booking and safeguarding records may be retained where necessary for legal, operational or safeguarding obligations; those records are not automatically equivalent to a player login. Contact STAR about deletion of particular records or material.
Keeping information accurate and handling requests
Tell STAR about changes to health, emergency arrangements or contact details before participation. Contact STAR to request access, correction, deletion, withdrawal of consent or information about how long particular records are kept. Some records may need to be retained for safeguarding or other applicable obligations; STAR will explain any reason a request cannot be met in full. You can also raise a data-protection concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Safeguarding concerns
Onboarding and general messages are not an emergency reporting service. Contact STAR directly about concerns requiring prompt attention. In an immediate emergency call 999.
