SHARED VALUES. PRACTICAL SUPPORT.

The people alongside us.

Our relationships take different forms, from local partnership and a signed pledge to campaign support and approved provider status.

Somerset Activity & Sports Partnership

More opportunities. Fewer barriers.

Our partnership with SASP supports the promotion and booking of STAR sessions, helping more families across Somerset find a route into girls’ football.

SASP can also provide funding to help eligible low-income families access sessions. Support depends on the funding available and the relevant eligibility criteria.

Play Their Way

Child-first coaching

Her voice. Her choices. Her journey.

STAR is an official Play Their Way partner and has signed the Play Their Way pledge. This commitment puts children’s voices, choices and individual journeys at the heart of their sporting experience.

At STAR, that means listening to what each girl enjoys, involving her in decisions about her football and adapting the coaching as her confidence, interests and goals develop.

CAMPAIGN SUPPORTER

Her Game Too

Campaigning for equality in sport

She belongs in football.

STAR supports the Her Game Too campaign against sexism and for equality in sport. Girls deserve to be heard, respected and taken seriously throughout their football journey.

Our support reflects the environment we aim to create: one where girls can ask questions, make mistakes, develop their skills and enjoy football without sexist stereotypes holding them back.

APPROVED PROVIDER

Autism Friendly Coaching

Individual understanding. Practical support.

Coaching that works for her.

STAR is an approved Autism Friendly Coaching provider. We recognise that every autistic player has her own strengths, communication preferences and experience of football.

We discuss useful adjustments with the player and family, such as clear demonstrations, time to process instructions, predictable session structure and agreed breaks. Support is planned individually around the player, programme and venue.
